We do this through the involvement of our career staff, volunteers, and community support.
Huguley Fire Department
A division of Huguley Water, Sewer, and Fire Protection Authority. As amended, Huguley Water, Sewer, and Fire Protection Authority is a Non-Profit Public Corporation organized on August 2, 1993, under Chapter 88, Article 1of Of Title 11 of the 1975 Code of Alabama. The Board of Directors and Management of Huguley Water, Sewer, and Fire Protection Authority identified a need for full-time emergency services in the Huguley Community. As a result of this need, The Board of Directors decided to proceed forward, and Huguley Fire Department began operation on October 15, 2007, with one station and four personnel.
On September 1, 2009, Station 2 opened to support economic development in the Cusseta Industrial Park located in Cusseta, AL. As a result of this economic development support, Cusseta Industrial Park is a thriving industrial park that employs many local and
surrounding citizens. Our current service territory spans 33 Square miles that comprise the community of Huguley, Alabama, and portions of Cusseta, Alabama. Huguley Fire Department serves various customers and facilities, including residential customers, industrial businesses in two large industrial parks (Huguley Industrial Park and Cusseta Industrial Park), various commercial companies, public facilities, and elementary education and daycare facilities. Our services include providing fire protection, first response basic emergency medical services (non-transport), fire prevention education, and life safety education. We also provide our neighboring communities and departments with mutual aid and automatic aid support for their emergency incidents. We also receive the same support from our neighboring departments when we need assistance for our emergency incidents. Huguley Fire Department is a combination department in that we entrust full-time career personnel and volunteers to staff and support the day-to-day operation of the department. Huguley Fire Department works diligently and with purpose every day to prepare and serve our community.

Using our years of experience in the hazards emergency response field, we’ll make sure to protect every neighborhood in our area of responsibility. In detail, after a call, we’ll immediately travel to the particular location, plan entry to the premises, and quickly execute operations to save lives and put out the fire. Aside from that, as long as we possibly can handle the situation, we’ll perform primary aid to harmed/injured individuals while waiting for designated medical officers to arrive or take action.

Since then, we have helped countless families, schools, and businesses deal with fire accidents, hazardous materials, and other emergencies. Also, we have assisted numerous organizations and neighborhoods in promoting fire prevention and awareness to their members. Regardless, today, we still proudly provide the same quality and unconditional services to anyone in Huguley. However, while we’re already veterans in this field, we’re still open to learning new things, adopting better equipment, and listening to the people we serve, like you, to further improve our work and protect more individuals along the way. Moreover, thanks to our knowledge about such occurrences, youngsters, students, or other citizens can learn the fundamentals of fire handling and prevention. The Huguley Fire Department is a highly regarded and trusted fire protection institution. Currently, we provide various services, including fire suppression, first response EMS, hazardous materials response, emergency medical response, and public education for fire prevention and handling.
